Yes mate.
More of the remembrance service parade than a march past.

My old regiment, 12 Light Air Defence Regiment RA.
They have the freedom of the town in Blackpool.

Now just 12 Regiment RA, lost a few in the Gulf.

Might be a bit late but have given a plug to another classic motor mag.

PS. I am saying Yes I'll be there
but remember this will depend on having someone to take over as carer for the day
And that might depend on the weather as well
they usualy have a two to three hour journey when it's clear.

Plenty of time yet though.

I have collected our collection tins from the Pilgrims Hospice this morning, all in the back of my sisters Lupo as I didn't want to fill the house up with them!

In other news!

Trophies are now HERE! But you can't see them! You will have to wait till the day! Very Happy

They look awesome and I have to make sure I say thank you to Thanet Sports Trophies in Broadstairs high street, quality product and they even gave us a little bit of discount! http://www.thanetsportstrophies.co.uk/

Spent ages clearing and sanding our steps, paths and drive yesterday only to wake up today and find the whole street clear Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad just my luck.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Wink

Almost all gone, rain all night as well, and the sun was out this afternoon, we did have about 18 inches but most gone.
Anglain water are out as well as the main drains are frozen, having to dig the road up. and they say they might be at it all night.
Glad I'm retired.

Same as you hope it will change. everything crossed

PostSubject: Re: 2010 Thanet Classics Christmas Cruise, 12th December   Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:26 am

With just over 5 days till the cruise I thought I better give everyone a low down on everything that is happening.

For those who haven’t seen the route map here it is (you can street view it if you so wish!)
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=115916638409770196881.000493ae419a19fe7b3b5&ll=51.33466,1.401132&spn=0.003553,0.010568&z=17

The trophies have arrived and look brilliant, but you can’t see them till the day! So don’t forget to be in with a chance of winning one, there are the following categories.
Best Dressed Car
Best Dressed Adult
Best Dressed Child

So get creative to be in with a chance of winning!

I have to make sure I say thank you to Thanet Sports Trophies in Broadstairs high street, quality product and they even gave us a little bit of discount! http://www.thanetsportstrophies.co.uk/

We now have loads of raffle prizes thanks to some very generous donations from a few people/businesses.

The prizes now include:
A meal for two
£30 M&S vouchers
Some Alcohol!
Tins of sweets and biscuits
Cuddly toys
And a few other bits a pieces.

Raffle tickets are £1 a strip (5 tickets) and can be bought on the day, the draw will be back at the starting point as will the awarding of the trophies! 100% of proceeds from raffle tickets are going to the Pilgrims Hospice.

Thank you to:
Vee and Den Vine
Shaun and Rose Collier
Thanet Motor Centre (01843 296002)
Phase 2 Discos (07831 660725)
St James' Bar and Restaurant (07511018764)
And many others who I have probably forgotten (sorry).

We have also had the club and the cruise mentioned in Practical Classics Magazine, and I have heard from a few magazines that they are interested in doing small pieces on the event! So make sure you do your hair before you get there just in case we get some pictures in the mags! Very Happy

Once again, I just want to thank everybody that has support me in organising this event especially Tony Moss and Shaun Collier who have been working hard behind the scenes!

Merry Christmas to everyone, hope to see you at the event, ohh and don’t fret about the weather I have booked sunshine for the day! On a serious note this event will almost definitely be going ahead, but if the weather is as bad as it was last week, then keep checking our website (www.thanetclassics.co.uk) for any updates!

Can’t wait to meet you all,

All the best,

Lee

For those that weren't at the meet, the Red Arrows Club will be putting on Bacon Rolls and Soup as well as hot and cold drinks from their bar before and after the cruise! Very Happy

So make sure you support this! All at brilliant prices, Bacon Rolls £1, Soup and Bread £1, tea and Coffee 50p!

Hi great to meet you, hope you enjoyed the evening it was a really good turn out wasn't it.

I like your idea for selling teas from your van, the Red Arrow club will be doing all the refreshments at the start and end of the cruise, but we will be stopping for photos at Joss bay and maybe Tesco/Asda where a hot cuppa would probably be very welcome Wink I'll be the first in the queue.
See you on sunday

All the best Tony

Cool idea Sean, just make sure you don't sell them at the club as I wouldn't wanna upset the Red Arrows as they have done so much for us! Very Happy

Ohh and get a post up and introduce yourself and put some pics up of your cool van! Very Happy

See you all Sunday,
Or might even be tomorrow if I get up early enough

Sister has turned up, was going to sneek in with the DLM but thats off the road.
Got the starter motor sorted, gave it a grease up and oil change, run it up sounded great.
Went in the garage to move the car out to wash and polish this morning, nice big pool of oil under the car, no oil on the dipstick.
All out from the back end of the sump cover, back end is the flywheel cover so should be dryish, there is a small hole to allow any oil to drain clear of the clutch and flywheel.
So looks like it's going to be engine out.

I think the car wet itself with all the excitement of going to the seaside lol! lol!

But I will call down in the Volvo, I'll try and get a few videos on route.

Roger.
