That looks nice and sound
Will it need a lot of work, or will it be a running restoration.

Love Rovers, Oh well another one might come along.

Thanks Roger,
with a bit of luck it will be a running restoration, I don't think she needs any major work done.

Its been standing outside for over a year, not sure when she last running.
Today I put some fresh petrol in her, turned her over and she fired, then the battery died,
so I will try again tomorrow with recharged batteries.Rolling Eyes

Spent the rest of the day cutting back the paintwork, which was very badly oxidised.
Cut the front end back so far, one of the following pictures shows the difference between the cut and uncut. Cool

So far I have cut the paintwork back on the front end and I will tackle the back tomorrow Laughing
All the electrics seem to be working ok but some rewiring will need to be done at some point.
I felt around under the dash and slowly pulled out the tool kit draw...........all gone Sad oh well, didn't think I'd be lucky enough to find a complete tool kit, off to ebay Laughing

Thanks Tom, Apart from general maintenance she shows signs of having a respray at some point and I believe the engine has been changed or rebuilt. The underside is solid and don't seem to have ever been welded.
I'm still waiting for the log book to come back so I don't know for sure how many owners she has had, I believe it's two.
The last owner, so I'm told, had owned her for 40 or more years. It's a well known car in Thanet so I'm told and the last owner was a Margate black smith.

Tony

Thanks Andy, I may at a later date have the grill re chromed but just to tidy her up I lightly sanded the middle section and sprayed with a few coats of alloy wheel silver. cheep as chips Wink

Hi Tom, no not yet sadly, I've got a bit carried away with the interior when I should have been sorting out the brakes.

Replaced the rear shoes but couldn't get the drum back on, piston fully compressed and adjuster wound down, leading edge on shoe out, no lip on the drum but the blooming thing just wouldn't go on so I put the old shoes back in and thought I'll have a look another day and started on the woodwork inside:)

I should be able to get back on track next week so I'll keep you posted on my progress. Wink
